Belly's Story

Meet the ever so sweet and special, Belly! Belly is our sweet senior guy who is in search of his forever home where he can finally decompress and retire in! Belly loves to lean into pets but also loves a simple bed to lay on! He loves to be brushed as well! Belly is considered to be one of our special care adoptions, which means that he will need some extra love and care. He is overweight and would benefit from a weight reduction program through food and increased exercise. He appears to have some spinal arthritis as he walks somewhat stiffly in the rear and there is radiographic evidence in the lumbara spine. This can be improved with weight loss and OTC joint supplements. At some time he may need some analgesics if it gets worse. He is FIV positive - see disclaimer. He is blind due to unknown reason and will need a slow introduction to a new enviroment. It is recommended he be further worked up for this at the private veterinarian. He originally came in from an ER where they thought he may have an abdominal mass from an ultrasound exam. He has not shown any signs associated with this and we were unable to determine if he really had a mass. This may require additional veterinary diagnostics and care. Belly needs a special home to welcome him in and we know his person is out there!

If you're interested in Belly, swing by our downtown Chicago adoption center at 510 N. LaSalle, to meet these sweethearts in person. We offer same-day adoptions, free parking, and guide you through the process from start to finish!
