Ready now! Beefcake is 15 pounds of love! He is enjoying being inside warm and dry with yummy food and treats, toys and cozy beds! Beefcake is a couch potato. He likes catnip toys and lounging. He seems to be fine with mellow cats. He does not seem to like dogs. If you are looking for a mellow dude to hang out with, stop by to meet Beefcake! Beefcake is about 2 years old. He tested negative for FeLV. He tested positive for FIV. Our adoption fee ($75 for cats 1 year and over or $100 for kittens) includes a free vet visit with one of our participating vets. All of our cats have been spayed or neutered, tested for Feline Leukemia and FIV, vaccinated for rabies and distemper and have been treated, if necessary, for fleas and parasites. We do adoptions by appointment only. We recommend filling out an adoption application first; then you can be pre-approved before your visit. This way if you find a cat/kitten that you connect with, you can take them home the same day. Applications can be found here: http://schuylerhumane.org/cat-adoption/ We have Open Hours on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays from 10am – 1pm, Saturdays from 10am - 4pm or Sundays from 2 to 5 pm. People can stop by without an appointment. Please note we do not do same day adoptions. Humane Society of Schuyler County's Adoption Policy

Every animal who crosses our door is an individual…not just a number. We work hard to make the perfect match with each and every adoption. Cats and kittens are available for adoption at three months of age. Prior to adoption all cats and kittens are spayed or neutered, vaccinated for rabies, FVRCP, tested for feline leukemia and FIV, have had a fecal analysis and are treated for any internal or external parasites. Cats and kittens with a wide range of treatable disease and injury are provided the appropriate veterinary care. All adoptable cats have implanted microchips for identification. Dogs and puppies are available for adoption at three months old. They are spayed or neutered, vaccinated for rabies, distemper (DH(L)PP), kennel cough and canine influenza virus. Dogs have had a fecal analysis and have been treated for internal and external parasites. All dogs are heartworm tested and microchipped. During their stay all dogs are given flea, tick and heartworm preventative on a monthly basis.
