She has a playful streak, enjoys watching the world outside, and likes affection—on her own terms. A few gentle pets are perfect, and she'll let you know when she's had enough.<br/><br/>Winnie is looking for a special home because she has one important quirk: when she gets overstimulated or excited, she will occasionally grab at a hand or ankle with a bite or swat. These moments are unpredictable and typically brief. Since returning to rescue, she's been living with a patient foster, and this behavior has already become less frequent, giving us every reason to believe she'll continue to improve in the right environment.<br/><br/>After a thorough veterinary evaluation, no medical cause was found, and Winnie is doing well on a low dose of anti-anxiety medication. She thrives with routine, interactive play, and people who understand that some cats communicate a little differently.<br/><br/>Because of this, Winnie is looking for an adult home without young children. We think she'd do best with someone who enjoys engaging with their cat through play and understands feline body language. She may even enjoy having a confident, playful feline companion, although a proper introduction would be important.<br/><br/>Winnie isn't looking for perfection—she's looking for patience. In return, you'll get a bright, curious companion who wants to be involved in your day, sleep near you at night, and reward your understanding with trust that grows a little more every day.<br/><br/>Sometimes the very best cats are the ones who simply need someone willing to meet them where they are. We think Winnie May is one of those cats. <br/><br/>All of the Sweet Paws animals are loved a great deal by their rescuers, fosters, and the volunteers who've cared for them along the way. Your kitten will be up to date on appropriate vaccinations by adoption day, but please keep in mind that kittens require multiple routine vet visits throughout the course of their first year. Sweet Paws is staffed by volunteers, and processing applications is time intensive; therefore, we ask that you only submit an application if you are fully committed to adopting.
