Beautiful Emma's Story
This resilient little cat has quite a story. Two years ago she was apparently abandoned with her four kittens in a rural area. She was placed in foster and turned out to be an excellent mom, raising very well socialized little babies and proving to be an affectionate, playful cat herself. She's estimated to be 3 to 4 years old.

Emma went to a home with a single older lady, and she brought love and light into her new mom's life❤️ Really, there's just nothing as wonderful as the companionship of an animal. But sadly, life took a downturn and Emma's mom has gone into hospice care, and now Emma needs a new start in her life.

This cat has no health issues, she's litter box perfect, eats both dry and wet food – maybe just a little too well🤭 Emma is not fat but she is definitely a nice solid girl. She is though a bit of an escape artist, and would not do well in a busy home especially with children who can leave doors open.

Her foster mom is the one who originally rescued her and has spent time getting to know her personality. She's very sweet, she loves attention and once she knows you she's a lap sitter, she loves catnip and toys and cat trees. But she has a strong startle reflex, if something scares her she finds a place to hide and will stay tucked away until she knows it's safe.

Her mom had company coming to visit, and once Emma knew them she would come out easily for them, sit with them and allow them to give her pets and treats. In a new home she will need to be confined to a single room to give her time to adjust to the newness, with one or two hiding spots for safety but making sure those places are within hands reach so she doesn't hide away for a long period of time. It's very common for many cats in a new situation to hide under a bed, and what most people don't realize is if they can hide out of hands reach they stay spooky for quite a while. Emma comes out easily once she is comfortable, and she is a delightful companion cat. In her new foster home she's not in love with the idea of other cats, her foster mom thinks she would do best as a single cat or if someone really wanted another start her out with the kitten. Overall she's a quiet girl, likes to look out windows, and if you're looking for a friend to enjoy quiet evenings with you she would be perfect.

Contact Nancy at grassrootsrescuewa@gmail.com if you are interested in Emma. If she sounds like a good fit, Nancy is willing to do a foster to adopt situation giving you time to see if Emma will settle in nicely and if she's the right girl for you. And also… If you are the right person for her☺️
