BEAU's Story

BEAU is a dashing FAWN BRITISH SHORTHAIR with amber eyes. He is 1 1/2 years old, neutered, has his claws, is up to date on vaccinations, and FIV/FeLV negative. He weighs 10 lbs.

Beau was surrendered to our organization after his previous owner noticed that he was being bullied by one of her female cats. His foster mom noticed that he seems to have developed a domineering attitude towards female cats, and therefore has avoided introducing him to her male cats. He might be okay with a very low-key male cat of similar age and temperament, with very slow introductions, but he would most likely do best as an only cat in his new home.

Beau’s foster mom has had the pleasure to foster British Shorthair cats before. They are so sweet and precious; no wonder people make such a big fuss about this breed. With his round face, big eyes, and plush coat, Beau is the definition of "cool, calm, and collected." Usually when Beau hears his foster mom, he ambles over for a greeting, and doesn’t mind a gentle body and face rub. His foster mom has noticed that he doesn’t care to have his belly touched, and he gets wiggly when she tries to pick him up. However, he sure likes to press his adorable face into her hands for some head rubs.

While he is not a super super active boy, he does enjoy interacting with the mink wand toy or DaBird when his foster mom swirls it around for him to catch, and occasionally he gets all excited by batting springs, small balls, or a catnip toy around.

Other than that, he is a quiet, non-intrusive little gentleman who is perfectly okay hanging out himself. Although his foster parents don’t have any dogs, we feel that he would probably be okay with a cat friendly dog who would ignore him. Older children should be fine for him.

Beau is looking for a home where someone enjoys their feline companion soft, plush, adorable, but not particularly demanding; someone who doesn’t need their kitty to sit on a lap or being petted excessively, but rather appreciates the quiet, calm presence a cat brings into our home and heart.

Beau LOVES wet food, and plenty of it and he also enjoys freeze-dried raw foods. He likes to have access to a couple of litter boxes.

ADOPTION FEE $350. FOSTERED IN MEQUON, WI.
