Bear - Handsome, Special Needs's Story

Bear just came to us from animal control, so we don't know his history. The vet feels Bear is just a couple of years old, but had been around the block a time or two while a tomcat. He is friendly and likes attention. He might look grumpy in his photos, but he is very sweet.

However, while tom-catting around, he became infected with FIV (kitty AIDS). He is not symptomatic or sick, so could have a normal life with decent care, and does not require any medication or anything special. Just a loving indoor-only home. Because FIV is contagious to other cats (usually through bites), he should be the only cat or share a home with a cat with the same ailment. FIV is not contagious to anything other than another cat.

Because he requires a special home, his adoption fee has been covered by someone who cares, for the right adopter.
_________________
When adopted, all of our cats and kittens have been spayed/neutered and tested for FeLV/FIV. Their vaccinations are current, they have been treated for fleas and worms, they are ID microchipped, and they have had a wellness check by our veterinarian.

We offer a 20% discount if you decide you would like to double the fun and adopt two cats or kittens!

Our adoption process is usually by appointment only, but we are open to drop ins on Saturdays. If Saturdays don’t work for you, let us know! We are happy to arrange an appointment on other days of the week, or in the evening, if it will help you connect with your next best furry friend. If you are considering adopting, PLEASE COMPLETE AN ADOPTION APPLICATION PRIOR TO MAKING AN APPOINTMENT. This will help to make the process easier and faster.

If you are not sure of which cat or kitten you might want to select, just indicate 'adult cat' or 'kitten', or ‘undecided’.
