Bear's Story

Hi! My name is Bear. I may look a little different from other kitties, but that's because I survived something very scary, a fire! Some of my fur grew back, and I have scars on my skin, eyelids and scarring on my eyes from my burns. My eyes may always look a little cloudy, and because of the burn my eyelids lost some extra skin so my eyes may appear smaller, but I can see the world just like a normal kitty, I promise!<br/>Even though I'm a little crispy around the edges, I don't let that stop me from being sweet, loving and adorable. My scars are just part of my story and proof that I'm a strong kitty survivor! I hope I can find my forever family that loves me exactly for the way I am.

Cat Depot's Adoption Policy
Adoptions are by appointment, and interested adopters may complete an application on-line by visiting www.CatDepot.org/Services, and click on Adoption Application. Once approved, an appointment will be scheduled. Visitors are also welcome for a tour by appointment. To schedule an appointment, call 941-366-2404. We are open from 10am-6pm Monday thru Sunday. When you arrive for your adoption appointment, an Adoption Counselor will greet you, show you the cats you are interested in, and get to know you better in order to assist you in finding the cat who will best fit your home and lifestyle. When you have selected a cat to be your forever friend, an Adoption Counselor will go over the cat’s medical history with you, and guide you through the Adoption Contract. You will receive your cat’s microchip number, a sample bag of cat food, and a bag of adoption goodies. The adoption process takes an average of 40 minutes from start to finish. You’ll need to bring a photo ID with you and proof of current address. You are encouraged to bring a cat carrier, or you can purchase a new or gently-used carrier in our retail store.
