Basiliski (FIV+)'s Story

Basiliski is a gentle, reserved little soul who takes her time getting comfortable in new surroundings. She may be shy at first, but with patience and kindness, she’ll begin to trust and show you her sweet personality. When we say at first, it takes her all of 5 minutes to come out of her shell. While being held isn’t her favorite thing, she does tolerate it, and she’ll happily accept affection. Basiliski is full of personality. She is a wonderous thing to watch play. Once she feels safe, Basiliski enjoys playtime and will happily chase after toys or bat around anything that catches her eye. With time, Basiliski will reward her forever family with the special love and trust that only a shy kitty can give. Despite her FIV+ status, Basiliski has a strong immune system. PLEASE READ THIS TO ADOPT: ***ALL ANIMALS ARE CURRENTLY IN LONG BEACH, MISSISSIPPI.*** We transport adopted animals every 2-3 weeks to Northeast states. Completed applications take precedence over inquiries. If you are interested in adopting, the FIRST step is to complete an application. We will discuss additional details with potential adopters once we have an application on file. For Pet's Sake Rescue is a Mississippi based rescue. We are located in an overpopulated area surrounded by high-kill shelters. Adoption fees include transport, vetting and a MS Health Certificate to travel. Each pet is spayed/neutered, receives age appropriate vaccines, dewormed, microchipped and flea/tick prevention. We are currently unable to adopt pets to ME and RI residents.

For Pet's Sake Rescue's Adoption Policy

Our Adoption Process: 1. Once we receive the completed application, we will call your vet references, employer, and landlord (if applicable). 2. Provide a photo ID with your current address or current mail with current address with your submitted application. Your ID and additional forms can be attached to the application. a. If the address on your ID does not match your current address, both items are required. b. If no valid Government ID is provided, your application will be automatically denied. 3. We require a "home visit" for applicants without a current vet reference. A home visit is virtual via photos. We require photos of your home showing it is safe for a pet. 4. Once you get an approval, we will send you an adoption contract and invoice for the adoption. Fees will not be refunded once your pet is on hold if you change your mind. We hold pets for serious adopters only. --Once we have a signed contract and paid invoice, we will reserve a kennel for transport (Transport Adoptions Only) **We reserve the right to refuse an adoption**
