Barney Rubble's Story

Barney was hanging upside down by his claws in a crate the first time his first foster saw him. It took a pair of gloves and careful timing to move him to a carrier. From that inauspicious beginning, Barney amazed the foster with his progress from wild thing to loverboy. Within a matter of a few days, he was snuggling, purring, and crying for more attention.

One of his siblings had already been trapped and kept by a nearby family. The others were too cagey to be trapped, so Barney was moved to a foster home with another kitten the same age so he could practice kitten skills. Barney immediately decided that Bizkit is his new BFF and cries whenever he cannot see Bizkit. He is definitely a kitten who does not like being by himself, but when he is, he can entertain himself. His favorite play is in a tunnel. He's not much of a jumper so far (at this writing), but that may change.

BCC estimates that Barney was born around September 10, 2025. His ideal home will have another young cat (ideally under 18 months old) for him to tussle and play with, preferably Bizkit. His ideal humans will also have lots of time for cuddles and play. Hopefully they will also have a tunnel!

Like all BCC kitties, Barney has been neutered, age appropriately vaccinated, snap tested for FIV and FeLV, and microchipped, at approximately 12 weeks of age. It is BCC policy not to adopt young kittens as “only kittens” or “singletons” to homes without another young cat to keep them company and to learn and grow with.
