Banjo's Story

Meet Banjo, a very shy, sweet fella, who along with multiple other cats were being neglected and starving. A kind hearted Amazon driver tried to trap as many cats as she could and Fiddle was fortunately one of them. Now in our care being fed and receiving appropriate care he is ready for a life of stability and love.

Banjo often prefers the safety of a cubby but has begun to venture out more. He likes pets when he is approached slowly and gently and will reward you with purrs. You can tell how much he wants to trust and be loved but is so scared to allow himself to be vulnerable. His abandonment experience has really affected him. Banjo will need an adopter experienced with shy kitties and who doesn't mind waiting to see the wonderful kitty we know he is. Banjo will need daily reassurance with pets and treats. Banjo will also need a small space to acclimate at first but not one where he is inaccessible. An adopter should be able to reach him easily. Banjo will melt the heart of the right adopter.

Banjo gets along with other friendly kitties and would likely find comfort in a cuddle buddy whether one from Second Chance or a resident kitty. Banjo would be best for a single adopter or a couple.

Banjo has been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Banjo has an approximate birthdate of 11-23-2024. His adoption fee is $95.

If you are interested in Banjo or any of the cats at Second Chance Cats of West Michigan, go to sccatswm.org/adopt to fill out an application, or stop in during open hours on Fridays from 11-2 or Saturdays and Sundays from 11-4.

Please note - we can only adopt to those who live within a one hour drive of Grand Rapids.

Thank you!
