Azura's Story

Meet Azura! Azura’s story began at OCAC, where she was at risk of being euthanized after giving birth to her kittens. Thankfully, she was rescued just in time—and she turned out to be an incredible mom. Now that her mom duties are done, Azura is ready for a home where she can finally relax and be loved for herself. She’s affectionate and enjoys being held and cuddled, but she also likes to explore and play. She’s made fast friends with the other cats in her foster home and would do great with another friendly feline—or she could be perfectly happy as your one-and-only, as long as you’re home often to give her plenty of love and attention. Azura could possibly live with a mellow dog as well. With her stunning green eyes and sweet, easygoing nature, Azura is a total gem—loving, adaptable, and ready to brighten someone’s life. Azura is currently at our PetSmart location on Woodward. If you are interested in meeting her, please send a message here, or email adopt@ahsem.org. Adoption fees are as follows: $175 for a single cat or kitten, $225 for a pair of cats or kittens. When adopting a cat from AHSEM the adoption includes spay or neuter surgery, age appropriate core vaccines, microchipping, combo tested (for FIV/FeLV), and basic wellness care including deworming and flea treatment.

Animal House of South East Michigan, Inc.'s Adoption Policy

When adopting a cat from AHSEM the adoption includes spay or neuter surgery, age appropriate core vaccines, microchipping, combo tested (for FIV/FeLV), and basic wellness care including deworming and flea treatment. Our adoption fees are as follows: $155 for a single cat or kitten $195 for a pair of cats or kittens Please note that we do not do same day adoptions and all adoption fees are non-refundable. AHSEM treats every adoption as "foster to adopt" This means that the first two weeks in which you have the cat is the "foster period." We do our best to ensure the right match for all involved and want to give the cat(s) time to decompress and adapt to their new environment. However, we realize sometimes things don't work out as expected. Therefore, during that two-week period, if something doesn’t work out you can bring the cat back. We are also flexible if more time is needed to determine if its the right fit. We will always take our cats back even after the "foster to adopt" period. We would hate to see them end up at a kill shelter, abandoned, or any other unsafe situation.
