Azalea's Story
Hi, my name is Azalea! I’ve had a rough start in life, but I’m ready for a bright, beautiful future filled with love and calm.

When I was first found, my eyes were so badly infected that the humans who found me thought I didn’t even have eyeballs. They quickly brought me to 4 Paw Vet for emergency care. After a few weeks of treatment with Dr. Barb, my eyes began to heal—and everyone was amazed to discover that yes, I do have eyeballs! Once I could see, I immediately started warming up to everyone around me. I stayed at the vet for months while they nursed me back to health, spayed me, updated my vaccinations, and tested me with other animals. They discovered that I am extremely afraid of dogs, so Pet Angel, a cat-only rescue, welcomed me into their family to help me find my forever home.

I also have a small ear tip, which is a tiny sign that I was originally going to be returned outdoors as a feral cat. Ear tipping is a common part of TNR (trap-neuter-return) programs, where the tip of one ear is removed while a cat is spayed or neutered to show that they have been fixed. But I’m very friendly and love people, so now I’m looking for a strictly indoor-only home where I can be safe and loved.

I am incredibly sweet and gentle. If you could hear me in person, you’d notice my loud, constant purring—it’s amazing how such a petite girl can make such a big sound! I love hidey-hole beds and am obsessed with the hammock in my cage. I’m soft-spoken, quiet, and a little shy at first. I get nervous around fast movements and new surroundings, and I like to have a calm, quiet space to retreat to when things get busy. With patience, gentle interaction, and time, I become confident and loving. Moving to a new home might feel a little overwhelming at first, but Pet Angel will help guide my family through the transition so we can build a wonderful bond together.

I do really well with other calm, relaxed cats. I enjoy snuggling and spending time with my cat roommates, but I’m not a fan of wrestling or rough play. I would love a home where I have a quiet feline friend to snuggle with, but someone playful or active would not be a good match.

A few things about me you should know: I am fixed, microchipped, up to date on all my shots, and negative for FIV/FELV. My eyes are fully healed and need no extra care, but I do tend to be “chronically stuffed up”, meaning I sometimes sneeze or get a little gunk in my eyes that will need a gentle wipe now and then.

I’m looking for a strictly indoor-only home with no dogs—ever. I do well with gentle children over the age of 12. I would thrive as either the only cat in the home or with one or two other laid-back, relaxed cats who enjoy snuggling rather than wrestling.

I am so gentle, sweet, and loving, and I just know that once we meet and start building our bond, you’re going to call me your soul cat. I can’t wait to meet you! If you’d like to schedule a meet-and-greet to see if we’re the perfect fit, please submit an application at
https://petangeladoption.com/adopt-a-cat
