Auger's Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.
Meet Auger!

Auger is a sweet, 2-year-old rescue beauty with a mostly white coat accented by adorable brown tabby patches. She was originally bottle-fed as a tiny kitten and found a loving home early in life, but through no fault of her own, she has recently returned to rescue and is ready for the next chapter in life.

This girl has a big personality and isn’t afraid to share it! Auger can be delightfully vocal when she wants attention—especially around mealtimes, which are clearly a highlight of her day. She enjoys companionship but also appreciates having her space respected.

Auger was the only cat in her previous home. While she arrived in rescue with her littermates, she may hiss at first, so slow, thoughtful introductions are important. She tends to do better with male cats than females. In her current foster home, she has met a small dog and even tried to rub against her, showing her potential to coexist with calm canine friends. Her experience with children is unknown, but she would likely do best in a quieter home with older kids who understand how to give her space when she needs it.

One of Auger’s favorite pastimes is lounging on the bed, soaking up the comfort of a cozy space. With patience, love, and a calm environment, Auger will reward a family with affection, conversation, and plenty of charm.

Auger is from an owner surrender. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract.

To learn more about Ruff Start’s adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page.

If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals.

Click here to watch a video of Auger. 12/31/25 8:36 PM
