Attorney General's Story

Attorney General is only 2 years old, but life has already asked so much of him.

He arrived at the shelter as a stray, with no family to claim him and no place to call home. Somewhere along the way, this sweet boy was born with a heart that was never quite right. Attorney General has AVSD and a grade 6 heart murmur a condition that means his little heart works much harder than it should every single day. To help keep him comfortable and happy, he takes three different heart medications twice a day. And somehow, despite everything, he remains nothing but gentle, patient, and loving. He takes his medications like a perfect angel, as if he understands everyone is only trying to help him.

The hardest part is knowing that his time may be limited. Attorney General is expected to live another 35 years. But the shelter refuses to believe that means he should spend those years without knowing what it feels like to truly be loved.

Because outside of his diagnosis, Attorney General is just... wonderful.

He is playful, affectionate, curious, and so full of love. He still chases toys, seeks out attention, and looks at people with hopeful eyes that seem to ask the same question over and over again: Could you be my person?

He doesnt know he is medically complicated. He doesnt know he is considered special needs. He only knows that he has never had a home before, and more than anything in the world, he wants one.

Attorney General deserves more than a shelter cage and a difficult prognosis. He deserves soft blankets, sunny windows, gentle hands, and someone who will love him for however much time he has left whether that is years or moments. He deserves to finally know what it feels like to belong to somebody.

If you can open your heart to a cat who needs a little extra care but will repay you with endless love, Attorney General is waiting for you.
