Even during his bath, even while his kennel was being cleaned every 30 minutes to keep him comfortable, Atticus purred nonstop, trusting every person who helped him.

Now fully healthy and thriving in foster care, Atticus has become one of the most affectionate kittens his foster mom has ever had. He loves people food far more than wet food, wants to be with you constantly, and prefers to ride around on shoulders like a small orange parrot. He is fearless with other animals, gentle with children, and endlessly loving.

If You’re Thinking About Adopting Me, I Think You Should Know:
I want to be with you all the time. I purr constantly, I perch on shoulders, and I am happiest when I am part of every moment of your day. If you are looking for a deeply attached companion who will follow you everywhere, I am your kitten.

Important Adoption Information and Next Steps:
All animals adopted through the Oswego County SPCA (OCAWL) are spayed or neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipped prior to adoption, and tested for FeLV/FIV (cats) or heartworm (dogs) when age-appropriate. Our animals are cared for in loving foster homes — they are not housed in a shelter environment. We review all applications thoroughly to ensure the best match for both animal and adopter. Adoption fees help cover the cost of veterinary care, food, and rescue operations so we can continue saving animals throughout Oswego County.

To apply to adopt, please visit www.oswegocountyspca.org
and complete our adoption application.

When you submit your application, please notify your veterinarian that we will be calling. If you do not have a current vet, please select one in advance so we can confirm your new pet will receive appropriate medical care.

For homes with existing pets, all resident animals must be spayed or neutered (with documented medical exceptions) and current on vaccinations. This helps ensure the safety and well-being of both new and existing family members.

Please keep in mind that we are 100 percent foster-based and volunteer-operated. We work hard to place animals quickly, but if you do not hear back within a few days, please message us on Facebook to confirm your application was received.
