UPDATED POST WITH ASSISTANCE FROM THE FAMILY NEEDING TO RETURN HIM:<br/><br/>Our buddy Atticus is coming back to us just under 4 months away from being adopted. The poor guy was having a hard time adjusting to his home that already had two female kitties there. Adding him to the equation had kind of the opposite effect of what the family was hoping for. Rather than being able to serve as the "playful peacekeeper", he ended up being the odd man out.<br/><br/>So now he's back with us, and knowing now what we didn't then, Atticus has some interesting cat preferences. He loves to rough-house with other cats, playing to be the boss. Or he is ok with being the only cat in charge. He’ll let you know when it is time for cuddles by jumping on your lap and telling you it is time! Don’t be surprised if on day-one he chooses his favorite lap. Atticus would do well with either another cat that likes to play hard, or if there is another cat in the house that just doesn’t play at all, only engaging if engaged. He uses his hut religiously, but a high sided litter box is preferred as he really goes to town to bury his business. Atticus is also not a grazer when it comes to eating, so a strict feeding time would be preferred. He doesn’t seem to like people food but will carefully take a treat from your hand if you offer. As long as a few scratching posts are around, he knows furniture is for sleeping on, not for sharpening his claws. He is a smart boy.<br/><br/>Atticus loves spring toys and the laser pointer, but his absolute favorite thing in the world is a pile of packing paper and a feather on a pole. He loves diving in like a pile of leaves, playing hide and seek and making himself a fort! A zoomy pop-up tunnel is also a fun time for him.<br/><br/>Atticus is available now. And after his first attempt at forever didn't pan out, he's hoping to find someone quick to reaffirm to himself that he's still loveable. So apply now to boost his spirits and take him home!<br/><br/><br/>ORIGINAL POST<br/><br/>Atticus is a sweet tabby boy who was super scared of everything and everyone when we first met him. He has been spending the past 6 weeks or so working on his socialization, and has come such a long way in just that short amount of<br/>time. He is definitely a people person, and all signs say that he is working hard to be some lucky persons fulltime lap cat. He is a shy guy when he first meets you, but once he knows that he can trust you, he lets his gaurd down, and shows you just how sweet and loveable he truly is.<br/><br/>The woman taking care of him wrote this little bio about our boy:<br/><br/>"Atticus is a handsome young brown tabby with a big personality and an even bigger heart. This playful boy has plenty of energy and loves being around his people. Hell happily greet you with sweet little purrs and adorable chirps that make it feel like hes having a conversation with you.<br/><br/>Atticus enjoys getting lots of pets and cuddles, but he also has a fun, playful side and will make time for his famous zoomies around the house. His joyful energy is guaranteed to keep you smiling. He also loves playing with the red laser dot. Although he will be happy to show you his tummy, he doesnt like having it rubbed.<br/><br/>Hes wonderful with kids and gets along well with other cats (after a slow introduction) making him a great addition to many kinds of families. He also wouldnt mind if he was the only cat as well. <br/>He is 3-4 years old, neutered, UTD on shots, double negative & microchipped. <br/>If youre looking for a friendly, affectionate kitty who will keep you company and entertain you, Atticus might just be the perfect match!"
