Meet Atlas- I like to follow you!

Meet Atlas, a two-year old, sweet, FIV+ boy who loves to play with his toys and is especially treat motivated. He loves attention and lots of petting (and will even bump his head against you to get more loving). His meow is more of a chirp - and he lets you know how he is feeling with different variations of it. I likes to watch birds, especially on the TV - or out the window if there is a perch to watch from, he does like to be comfortable! And, he will follow you around the house, just to keep you company!

Atlas does has FIV. There are a lot of misconceptions about FIV floating around, but any bad things you've heard are probably false! FIV+ cats live with other cats without transmitting the disease and have about the same life expectancy as any other cat. The best way to keep an FIV+ cat healthy is to keep him or her inside, which is important for any cat given our area's coyote problem! Your FIV+ companion will need the same routine veterinary care as a regular cat; it's just going to be a bit more important to stay on top of it due to his or her lowered immune system. In most cases, you and your cat will barely notice he or she has FIV! Please contact us if for more info about life with an FIV+ cat. We love dispelling myths about great family pets like Atlas! A great article on this misunderstood disease can be found at: http://bestfriends.org/resources/fiv-cats-faqs

To learn more about this cat, about FIV, or to start the application process, please contact OCSP Cat Rescue at 714-815-4300 or ocsp.adoptions@gmail.com, putting the cat's name in the subject line. EMAIL is always the fastest way to bring your new family member home!
