Arthur: The Reluctant Royal, Learning to Trust His Subjects's Story

Once the proud ruler of a South Brooklyn backyard, Arthur has traded alley diplomacy for the quiet comforts of indoor life. This big, beautiful long-haired tuxedo carries himself with quiet dignity — thoughtful, curious, and a little regal.

Arthur's story is one of slow, sweet transformation. He arrived confident and unneutered, knowing exactly where the dinner bell rang. Once fixed and safely indoors, his gentler side began to emerge — chasing feather toys, climbing shelves, lounging like he owns the place. Because he kind of does.

He's not a lap cat (yet), and he's not one to be approached. Arthur is the kind of cat who comes to you — on his own terms, in his own time. But when he does? It means something.

He's proven he loves feline company. He and a resident cat have become fast friends through a pen door — rubbing faces, swatting paws, full hearts. A confident, playful cat in the home would be his ideal companion and guide to indoor life.

Arthur would thrive in a calm, patient household where trust is earned and respected. He's not for everyone — but for the right person, he will be everything.

Arthur is neutered, FIV/FeLV negative , and vaccinated. He is estimated to be 5 years old. Fill out our adoption application and then someone from our adoptions team will reach out to you! We do require a virtual home check for all adoptions. Adoption Costs: Our fee is $225 for a cat or kitten and $425 for a pair. Kittens under 6 months old will be adopted out in pairs or to home with a current resident cat. Senior or Special Need Cats: When thinking about adopting a cat, don’t automatically rule out senior or special needs cats. These animals have a lower chance of being adopted over a fluffy kitten, but they are just as deserving of a loving home. You will be made aware of any medical or special needs so that you have the ability to consider if it is something that your family can take on. Outdoor Policy: INDOOR ONLY This strictly means the cats may only stay indoors unless we have approved an enclosed catios, leash walking, or in a secure pet stroller.
