Arlo

Arlo is a strikingly handsome 11 month old cat. He first joined Kindred Spirits Rescue at the age of 3 weeks old. His mother was a stray cat with a severe leg injury that we rehabilitated. Arlo lived with one of our fosters from the age of 3 weeks-12 weeks. He was adopted by an incredible family that loved him dearly and gave him excellent care. Unfortunately, Arlo started behaving in a way that told his people that he was chronically stressed and not thriving. He seemed to be significantly stressed from living with a child that loved him very much! Arlo loved him back despite their incompatibility, but it caused him great stress. Arlo loved his family very much and enjoyed cuddling with and spending time with them. <br/><br/>Arlo has a lot of love in his heart. He is social and loves to interact with people and other animals. He seems to get along well with other cats and would likely do fine living with another cat! He's incredibly sweet and loves to be pet. His previous family told us he likes to cuddle too. He loves to eat snacks and try new foods. In his previous home he enjoyed spending time outdoors.<br/><br/>Chronic stress over time caused Arlo to have accidents (urine) outside of his litter box. We are searching for a home that will minimize Arlo's stress and think he is likely to be successful in a home without young children. He has not had a single accident since arriving back to a foster home with no young children. We would happily allow Arlo to leave our care on a "foster-to-adopt" basis to ensure a good fit for both parties. His adoption fee is waived in the hopes that it will help us find his ideal home! We are always willing to take our cats back if they do not thrive in their new homes, no questions asked. Arlo visited a veterinarian that found no physical health issues. His family tried very hard to find a way to make Arlo happy but simply could not. He had various types of litter boxes and litter and did not improve. This tells us that his behavior is likely caused by stress.
