Archie's Story

Archie is a senior DSH male rescued from an apartment after his owner passed away. Archie spent a month living alone before he was rescued, and was traumatized, matted, and very overweight when he came into foster care. He has come a very long way since then. He has lost weight, but he will always be a big boy — he’s 17 lbs! He also has to be on a special kidney diet.

Archie is very social, chatty, and curious. He loves catnip and lounging in a sunny spot in front of a window. He will follow his humans around and wants to be involved in whatever is going on. That said, though, Archie would do best in a quiet home without a lot of activity. He can get overstimulated, and can become territorial and protective of his space if he feels overwhelmed or threatened. For this reason, he wouldn’t do well in a home with children. Archie also doesn’t like other cats, so he needs to be the only cat in the house. We are looking for an experienced cat owner who will be patient and gentle with Archie and give him the space he needs to blossom. He is a sweet boy who has been through so much, and deserves a home where he can feel safe and secure.

Birth Year: 2015
____________________________

If you are interested in adopting this cat, you MUST fill out an adoption screening form on our website: www.gnhcp.org/adoptions

We WILL NOT read any applications or inquiries from Petfinder. We only adopt to Connecticut residents.
