Anya's Story
Anya (about 5 and a half months old as of 1/10/26) is a spayed female brown tabby shorthaired kitten. Anya was born into a colony of feral cats in Zion just as they were getting started with trap-neuter-return. She was grabbed at about 7 weeks old and although she was a bit scared she was very docile and easy to work with. Anya has warmed up more slowly than her sister Kala, she has a sweet, meek personality that likes to sit back and observe rather than seek out and demand attention but from very early on she's been easy to handle and definitely likes being held and petted once she lets her guard down. Like all kittens she can be silly and loves to play with toys, but she doesn't have the off the charts energy levels some kittens are notorious for, making her an easier fit for families with middle aged or senior kitties looking for a snuggly companion more than an aerobics instructor. She's slowly getting used to her foster family's Australian Shepherd but with her shy nature we would only recommend her for especially calm, cat-experienced dogs with a very slow introduction. She does well with older kids that can be gentle and respectful but excited toddlers would be a bit much for her.
