Antonio's Story
Some friendships are built slowly, one paw at a time. Our shy boy, Antonio, is waiting for someone who will give him the chance to shine. He is 1.5-2 years old and came into our care as part of the Vineyard Cats, a group of young semi-feral cats from our partner shelter on the island. He may be a bit of a slow burner compared to some of his friends, but Antonio reminds us that the best things are worth waiting for.

Antonio is a quiet sweetheart with a heart full of potential. He is blossoming at his own pace and, while still timid and a look-but-don't-touch kind of guy, Antonio's happy to keep you company from a distance. He no longer hides when people are nearby and will even lean in for a curious hand sniff. While some of his shelter mates are busy zooming around, Antonio is content living life in the slow lane. His favourite spot is perched up on a ledge out on the Catio, where he can soak up the sunshine, enjoy a catnap, and watch the birds go by. Antonio has made such wonderful progress, and he's looking for a furrever family who will help him continue that journey. He'll thrive with cat-savvy adopters who are happy to let him blossom in his own time and celebrate all the little moments along the way. A calm adult-only home would be best, though older children who are gentle and respectful may be okay. A "must-have" for Antonio is a feline friend! It would be extra special for him to be adopted with one of his Vineyard pals so that he has a familiar face to share his new home with. Antonio is healthy and great with his litter box.

Antonio may not be the outgoing cat in the room, but he has a quiet charm that draws you in and makes you want to get to know him. You are also welcome to visit us during our Open House, held every Saturday and Sunday from 12 -2 pm.
