Anna's Story

Anna came to me during a terrible storm the Wed before Mother’s Day. She had given birth and was trapped with her babies. She was not feeling well, terrified and way too young to be having babies. She tried so hard but her babies did not survive an entire week. Anna was named after Anna Jarvis, the woman who is said to have come up with the idea for the Mother’s Day national holiday in the early 1900s. It was fitting for her. As sad as I am that her kittens did not survive, I am so happy that she came to me because the people who were feeding her outdoor were never probably going to try to give her an amazing indoor life and just continue to feed her outside.

That is where YOU come in. She loves other cats and has gotten more and more comfortable with us humans every day. She is special and going to make someone very happy. She is a gorgeous black cat with the red coloring that shines when the sun or light hits her just right. Absolute stunner!

Fixed, microchipped, vaccinated, combo test negative for heartworms, FIV and FeLV.

Happy Tears looks for "indoor only" homes for all our kitties. We also believe declawing an animal is cruel and would suggest anyone who wants a kitten or cat declawed search for one that has already been declawed. Lastly, we will always take a cat or kitten back if for any reason you find that our baby is not the right fit, but we do ask that before adopting, we discuss any and all concerns you might have so we can avoid letting a cat go who might not be a fit (but foster/trial is a great option too!).

Thank you for considering one of ours! They are like family to us now... and when they leave us.

Our adoption fee donation varies from cat to cat depending on their age and health. Adoption fees range from $50 to $250 and this covers the cat's vetting. All of our adoptable cats are fully vetted, meaning their FVRCP and Rabies shots are up to date, they are spayed or neutered, have had an exam and have been combo tested for FIV/ FELV. As soon as an applicant is approved we will set up a time and date to do a meet and greet with the kitty at our rescue location! There is no wait time for an adoption, unless another applicant is meeting and deciding on the kitty at the same time.
