Angus's Story
I may look like an off-color lion, with my long hair and a full mane, but ever since I was left alone in my home for eight months, I feel more like the lion in the Wizard of Oz. I remember when it wasn't that way; when I would doze on my sweet human's shoulder and curl around her neck for warmth. She got very old and left. I'm in a quiet room now with others who are a bit shut down too. When you visit, look in the back of the pink den where I hang out most. There are volunteers here I've come to trust deeply. When I hear their voices, I come out to cuddle and play with the dancing feather. These humans promise me I'll feel like myself again once I have a human or two of my own. I know they're right.
