Angel's Story

Meet Angel!

She and her cat-mates (Stinker and Precious) were surrendered to us after their owner tragically passed away. Overnight, their entire world changed. When they first arrived, their grief was impossible to miss. They were terrified, withdrawn, and barely touched their food for days. Even now, they’re still learning how to navigate life without the person they loved. For more than a month, they have been waiting for someone to see them.

Angel is their mama, and let’s just say she’s got plenty of personality. She’s what we lovingly call a "Sour Patch Kid"—first she’s sour, then she’s sweet. In our humble opinion, Angel and Stinker should have swapped names! Angel firmly believes she’s a tortie trapped in a tabby’s body and isn’t afraid to set boundaries. When she’s had enough attention, she’ll politely (or not-so-politely) let you know. We know that with time, patience, and the comfort of a home, her softer side will continue to shine.

This time of year is especially hard for adult cats. With adorable kittens everywhere you look, cats like Precious, Angel, and Stinker are often overlooked.

They are not considered strongly bonded, so they do not need to be adopted together. But if someone happened to have room in their heart and home for all three, we’d happily send them home as our favorite special: Adopt One, Get Two Free!

Because honestly, what we really want is for these girls to stop grieving in a shelter kennel and start healing in a home.

They’ve already lost the person they loved most. Let’s not let them lose their chance at a second chapter, too.

Female
3 years
5.5 lbs
---------------------------------------------------
Interested in adopting? The BEST way to adopt is to come meet the pet in person at the shelter and fill out an application while you’re here. No appointment needed!

Please note: in-person adopters who have already met the animal get first priority, and sometimes pets are adopted before we’re able to contact online applicants.

Hours: 11am-7pm Tuesdays & Fridays
11- 4pm All Other Days
