Andrews's Story
Neutered Male
5 Years Old
7 Pounds
$40
FIV+

Meet Andrews! This handsome 5-year-old orange long-haired gentleman came to us as a stray, so we dont know much about his past, but hes been showing us more of his independent personality every day. Andrews is social in his own unique way, though he prefers interactions on his terms and appreciates having his personal space respected. Like many cats who may have spent a lot of time outdoors, he can become overwhelmed if pushed too quickly, so hes looking for a patient and understanding home that respects feline boundaries and allows him to build trust at his own pace.

Andrews seems like he may have spent much of his life outdoors and would likely enjoy continued safe access to the outdoors or a home with plenty of enrichment and space to explore. He has also shown some protectiveness over certain items he considers his, which is not uncommon for cats who have had to fend for themselves outside. As hes grown more comfortable with staff and settled into a routine, he has already made great progress and is learning that he doesnt have to guard his belongings anymore. With consistency, patience, and positive reinforcement, Andrews continues to relax and show more of his sweet and charming side.

This beautiful orange boy would thrive in a calm environment where he can settle in at his own pace and decide when hes ready for affection and companionship. If youre looking for an independent cat with plenty of personality, striking good looks, and a rewarding journey of earning his trust, Andrews may be the perfect fit.

At the Humane Society of Midland County, all animals adopted will be spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations prior to an adoption. Dogs over 6 months of age will be heartworm tested, and any dog with a positive test will receive treatment at No Appointment Needed to Meet Adoptable Animals!
We have open adoption hours, and walk-ins are always welcome! While filling out an application lets us know you're interested in adopting, it does not hold an animal, and applications are not required to meet the available animals. We do highly recommend and may require you to bring any dogs that reside in the same household, or that will be around commonly if you are meeting a new dog companion.

Want to Know if Im Still Available?
Call the shelter at (989)-835-1877 to confirm my availability. If youd like to show youre thinking about adopting, please fill out an application on our website under "Adopt" at www.hsomc.org.

Open Adoption Hours:

Tuesday & Wednesday: Noon 6 pm

Thursday & Friday: Noon 7 pm

Saturday: Noon 4 pm

Im located at the Humane Society of Midland County, 4371 E Ashman St, Midland, MI 48642.

We cant wait to meet you and help you find your new best friend!
