Amelia (aka Elecktra)'s Story

Meet Amelia -- a brave little girl looking for a special forever home!

Amelia is a beautiful, resilient kitten with a neurological condition that makes her truly one of a kind. Her front legs are contracted, and her back legs are affected by her condition, so she gets around by army crawling and adorable bunny hops. She has learned to navigate the world in her own unique way and doesn't let her challenges stop her from exploring, playing, cuddling or enjoying life. Because of her mobility needs, Amelia requires a low, flat litter box that she can easily access. She'll thrive in a patient, loving home that understands she may do things differently, but that doesn't slow her spirit.

Amelia isn't looking for someone to feel sorry for her. She's looking for someone who will see her determination, celebrate every little victory and love her exactly as she is. Her joyful attitude and sweet personality prove every day that disabilities don't define her.

All Amelia needs is a family willing to give her a chance. In return, she will fill your home with love, inspiration and endless smiles. Could you be the special person she is looking for?

If interested in adopting Amelia (aka Elektra), visit LPAH.org/adoption.

These pets are a more desirable breed and their adoption fee is $300. All animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, and spayed/neutered (if they are too young an appointment will be made when they become of age). LPAH is a foster based rescue which means our animals are placed in a loving foster home while they wait to find their forever home! If you are interested in applying for any of our adoptable animals, please fill out an application at lpah.org/adoption or via the link on this page and we can set up a time for you to meet your potential new best friend! Because we are foster based, we only adopt out to the states of NC, SC, and VA. Puppies and kittens are a smaller adoption range, as they are required to have remaining vetting prior to adoption finalization.
