Amber 's Story

Amber was an owner surrender to the rescue when circumstances changed and they could not care for her. Amber is most likely 10-12 years old.
Diagnosis & Medical Needs:
Amber was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. She requires daily medication, along with routine bloodwork to monitor her levels and ensure everything stays well-controlled.
Hyperthyroidism occurs when the thyroid gland becomes overactive and produces too much thyroid hormone. This can speed up a cat’s metabolism and may cause symptoms like weight loss despite a good appetite, increased thirst, and restlessness.
Many cats with hyperthyroidism go on to live happy, comfortable lives with this simple routine. She takes her medicine in a treat, but transdermal meds are also an option and very easy to administer.
Amber is spunky and sweet. She is also good with other cats.
