Alma Domestic Short Hair Maynard, MA

Alma is a funny and quirky little lady! She's about 12 years old, and she knows what she likes: food, toys, food, warm places to sleep, treats, and respectful attention. She can usually be found in the nearest available sunspot, but she’s still has energy for playtime! She wants to be your one and only pet and will reward you with purrs and company. Although Alma is not a lap cat and is not tolerant of much handling at this point, a stable home where she isn't stressed by the presence of other pets will probably make her much calmer and more easy going. She does have a wash of orange running through her gray coat, so maybe tortitude comes with the territory! She loves to eat, which will be a sure route to her affection. She's also a big fan of catnip, crinkle balls, and fishing-pole toys.

Sweet Alma has hyperthyroid, which is easily treatable with pills crushed and mixed into her food. She has slightly elevated kidney values, so she might benefit from special kidney food, if your vet thinks it advisable. Young kids are not recommended, since she can be quite firm, not to say pointed, in response to handling she doesn't approve of. The teen in her current foster home is very respectful of Alma, and she has enjoyed many tender petting sessions.

Alma is currently recovering from an abscessed anal gland. She is healing beautifully! Alms also has a stable benign cyst above her left eye. This doesn't bother her and doesn't need treatment.

Alma is ready for a quiet home where she can blossom as the only pet!
