Alley’s FAQs

What is West Side Purrs’s adoption process?

Please read our adoption policy carefully before applying: We work to match our cats with the most suitable homes and with respect to the order in which we receive the applications. We reserve the right to approve or deny all adoptions as we are committed to the welfare of the animals in our care as well as meeting your personal needs. Adoption fee is $175 for kittens and $125 for cats older than 1 year. This covers spay/neuter surgery and recovery, rabies and FVRCP vaccine, FIV/FLV testing and treatment for fleas/worms (this fee does NOT include microchipping). We have spent much more on them already and are not asking for any fee to cover the expenses we have had throughout the duration of their stay with us like food, litter, vet and medications when they were sick, etc. Adoption fee is collected at the time of adoption. We accept cash, PayPal, Venmo, CashApp and Zelle. This fee is non-refundable. Kittens are social animals and do better in pairs! If you do not have a friendly feline in your home, please consider applying for 2! Those interested in adopting pairs are given priority. A reduced adoption fee of $250 for both kittens and/or $175 for both cats will be granted in the instance of two kittens/cats being adopted together. Should there be any reason that you can no longer keep your cat, we will take them back as a surrender. You are required to contact us first before considering shelters, or other placement. We provide superb care for the animals with us and make a reasonable effort to provide healthy kittens and cats to adopters. Nevertheless, West Side Purrs is not responsible for veterinary bills or treatment of any cat after leaving our care. Please allow us 48-72 hours to review your application. We respond to all new inquiries Tuesday-Friday. Fill out the form thoroughly. Incomplete adoption applications will not be considered.
