Alejandro's Story

Alejandro is a handsome 2-year-old boy (born in spring 2024) with the perfect balance of playful energy and laid-back charm. He enjoys chasing his feline friends, playing in his favorite fabric tunnel, and getting his energy out on the scratching post—but he's just as happy curling up for a cozy nap on his favorite chair or tucked inside his tunnel.

One of Alejandro's favorite pastimes is keeping watch over the shelter entrance from his special chair. He carefully observes everyone who comes and goes, making sure the volunteers are doing their best work (he takes his supervisory role very seriously... or at least that's what we like to think!).
Alejandro gets along well with other cats when given a proper introduction. He was rescued from an outdoor colony after the caregiver who looked after him had to move away. The apartment complex had become increasingly dangerous due to loose dogs, making it unsafe for the cats. Thankfully, Alejandro's friendly personality gave him the chance to find safety indoors, where he has truly blossomed.

Alejandro has a gentle, mellow nature and would likely do well in a calm, loving home. While we haven't had the opportunity to see how he does with dogs or young children, his easygoing personality suggests he may adapt well with patient introductions.

If you're looking for a sweet companion who will entertain you with playful antics, keep a watchful eye on the household, and happily curl up nearby for an afternoon nap, Alejandro might be the perfect addition to your family.

Safe Haven for Animals's Adoption Policy
Our Adoption Process We have a clear and well-structured process in place to find the best possible homes for our animals in need. This process begins with you filling out our Adoption Request Form designed to collect important details and insights from potential adopters so we can match you with the best possible pet. Once complete, we move forward by setting up a visit for you to meet our cats in person. One of our Adoption Coordinators will provide a tour of our facility and introduce you to our available cats. Our adoption coordinators have extensive knowledge of every cat and can help answer questions about individual personalities, habits, and special needs. Should you decide to choose a specific cat during this meeting, we then schedule a home visit to deliver your new pet, ensure it’s a safe and suitable environment, and provide a care kit for the new pet. To support a smooth transition, we also make a follow-up call about a week later to see how everything is going to ensure both the adopter and the cat are settling in well together.
