Albert’s FAQs

What is Community Cat, Inc.’s adoption process?

Community Cat works diligently to find loving homes that are the best match for our rescued felines. With this in mind, please consider our guidelines when we are reviewing adoption applications: Potential adopters must... - Be over 21 years of age - Have consent from all adults living in the household - If renting, have permission from the landlord to keep pets at the rental property - Have all pets in the home up-to-date on rabies and distemper vaccinations and fixed Community Cat reserves the right to perform additional steps to ensure a good match between a cat and any potential adopter, including calling veterinary references, confirming pet policies with landlords, house visits/interviews, etc. At all times, Community Cat has the right to accept or deny any adoption application. We also recommend that you carefully review our Adoption Contract before adopting from our organization and familiarize yourself with all related requirements. Adoption Application Please be as thorough as possible and our volunteers will be in touch within 2-3 days. Adoption Fees Community Cat charges a nominal fee for adoptions that helps offset our veterinary and supply costs (these cats don't feed themselves!). Each cat or kitten is spayed/neutered, FIV/FeLV tested and has all age-approriate vaccines. Frequently our cats will have additional veterinary care including dental surgeries, amputations, enucleations, hospitalization bills, etc. Your adoption fee helps us continue to rescue cats that are most in need. Remember, no cat left behind! Ask about our Seniors for Seniors program! Free adoptions of senior cats to senior citizens.
