Alaska's Story

Meet Alaska

At just over a year and a half old, Alaska has already been through more than most cats ever should. She was rescued from life outdoors while pregnant and gave birth to her kittens safely indoors shortly after arriving with us. Now that her babies are growing up, this sweet mama is finally ready for a life that's all about her.

Alaska is an incredibly gentle and affectionate girl. One of her favorite things is getting attention from her people she'll even stand up on her back legs to rub her head against your hand as a not-so-subtle request for more pets. She's loving, soft-hearted, and happiest once she feels safe and comfortable.

Like many cats who came from outdoor life, Alaska can be a little unsure in new environments at first. She may be a bit hissy for a day or two while she adjusts, but once she settles in, her sweet personality shines through and she becomes very attached to her people.

Alaska would likely do well with other cats given proper introductions. She would probably be happiest in a quieter home with older children or adults only where she can settle in at her own pace.

After spending the beginning of her life surviving outside and raising babies, Alaska deserves a forever home where she can finally relax, be spoiled, and enjoy being someone's beloved companion.

Please be sure to read a cat's full bio before applying! We do our best to keep bios updated as we learn more about each cat or as circumstances change. The bio is the best place to find the most current and important information about their needs, personality, and ideal home.

Thank you for your interest in adopting from Scruffy Paws Animal Rescue! Scruffy Paws Animal Rescue's Adoption Policy
Scruffy Paws Animal Rescue requires an application, vet reference and virtual home tour for adoption approval. We love our rescues and want them to find the best possible match and furever homes! Why Was a Cat’s Bio Removed? From time to time, you may notice that a cat’s bio has been removed from our website. There are several possible reasons for this, and we want to provide some clarity. Most often, a bio is removed because the cat has been adopted — which is always wonderful news! In other cases, a bio may be temporarily taken down because the cat is receiving medical care or treatment, and we want to focus on their recovery before accepting new applications. Sometimes, we remove a bio because we’ve received an overwhelming number of applications and need time to carefully review them. We work hard to thoughtfully match each cat with the best possible home, and that process takes time. Lastly, a bio may be removed if the cat has an upcoming meet-and-greet, and we are waiting to see how that visit goes before moving forward. If a cat’s bio is no longer posted, it simply means they are not currently available for new applications. We always update our website as soon as a cat becomes available again. Thank you for your understanding and for supporting our rescue efforts! 🐾
