Akoya's Story

Akoya, is 5+ year old , mfront declawed gem of a tortie with expressive gorgeous green eyes and a tan stripe down her nose. She is a super sweet, petite girl who is looking for a quiet home where she can curl up in your lap. Akoya has been spayed, and at some point earlier in her life, she was front declawed. She may have had a bit of a rough start in life, and her full origin story is unknown, but at 4 yrs she arrived at ARC rescue and got the medical attention she needed, and she has been with the same foster family for over 6 months. Akoya’s foster family provides a low stress environment, but because they have other pets, it is not ideal for her. Akoya does not get along with the other kitties but is tolerant of the dogs who do not bother her.

We are aware that that in her previous home, she similarly adored her human (who found her outside lost), and there was one dog she liked but did not get along with the other cats and dogs. Sadly, her previous owner became sick and was unable to continue caring for Akoya. Akoya’s stress took a toll on her litter box habits and overall well-being, but with the vet’s care, she now has a medication that calms her and has allowed her to get back on track. She eats well, loves to talk, and after a little roaming will seek out your lap.

If Akoya's sweet face and story have captivated you, please go to https://www.arcrescuetx.com/adopt and fill out a no-obligation adoption inquiry.

Adoptions in the Dallas area.
