Akiya's Story

Akiya is a very sweet senior kitty looking for a forever home where she can be spoiled in her golden years.

She adores people and is 100% a lap kitty. If theres a lap available, shell be in it, purring and soaking up all the love. Shell follow you around the house and just wants to be near her people. Otherwise she enjoys laying in a cat tree by the window and watching the world outside. She likes playing with wand toys and gets playful bursts of energy when she chases them around. The only time she has a mischievous streak is when she sees an opportunity to steal human food off your plate.

Shes not a fan of other cats, so she would prefer to be an only pet. She deserves to be the queen of her castle.

Akiya is 15 years old and has a history of chronic IBD. She came to the rescue in very rough shape, but she is much healthier and happier now. Her IBD causes her to have frequent loose stools, but she has very good litter box habits and never has accidents outside of the litter box. Her IBD is managed with twice daily oral meds, a weekly B12 injection, and a prescription diet. She tolerates being medicated and getting injections well, and her foster can teach you everything you need to know. She will need to stay on her prescription diet unless otherwise advised by a vet. She also has no teeth, but she eats both wet and dry food just fine. She will need a special home that can handle her needs, but you will be rewarded with endless love and companionship.

Her adoption fee is waived! Please send in an application at www.pepperspalscatrescue.org/adoptfoster
