Akar & Metok

Akar & Metok — A Bonded Pair Looking for One Last Home

Akar and Metok are five-year-old black shorthairs who have spent their whole lives together, and it shows. They wrestle, chase string across the floor, and bat toys back and forth until someone knocks something off a shelf. When the excitement winds down, they'll find the sunniest window in the house and stretch out for a long afternoon.

Akar is the outgoing one — first to greet a visitor, first to climb into a lap. Metok takes a little longer to warm up, but once she trusts you she's just as affectionate. Both have grown up alongside children and are gentle, patient, and easygoing with them.

They're healthy, spayed and neutered, fully vaccinated, and current on all veterinary care.

The only reason they need a new home is that a member of their family has developed severe cat allergies. This has been a hard decision, and we want to do right by them. We'd love to keep them together since they've been companions for years, but we're open to separate homes for the right fit.

If you have room for two shadows who follow the sun around the house, we'd love to hear from you.

These cats are considered a Courtesy Listing. Jake’s Place offers our services to help other responsible rescue groups or individuals find good homes for cats in need. We have screened and interviewed each of the individuals before agreeing to post their cats.
