AJ (Archie)'s Story

Hi, I'm Archie, a explorer first, cuddle buddy always.

I'm about a year and a half old, friendly as they come, and I settle into new spaces like I've always lived there. After only one night in and I already had favorite napping spots claimed (location is everything). I'm curious, confident, and never shy. I'll happily greet visitors, make new friends, and then show them around like a proper host.

I love other cats and am great with kids, too. I'm playful and social, especially with feline buddies. Balls, bells, strings - I'm in! I run, jump, and zoom up and down stairs and hop on and off furniture with ease. I might have a slightly unusual gait with a bit of a wide stance in the back, but it's subtle and doesn't slow me down one bit. My x-rays showed only very mild joint changes, so there's nothing special you need to do - just help me stay at a healthy weight so I can keep feeling my best.

When I'm not exploring or playing, I'm all about the cuddles. I love sitting on laps, sleeping next to my people, and soaking up pets. Brushing? Yes, please! Belly rubs aren't really my thing (I'm a cat, not a dog!), and I'm not a big fan of being picked up. I prefer to keep all four paws grounded, but I'll happily lean into your hand for scratches and settle in close for the night.

You'll also notice my ear has a little extra character. I had an injury before coming to CARE that required part of it to be removed, but I think it adds to my charm. Ruggedly handsome, right?

Oh, and a fun fact, I'm a bit particular about my water. A fountain? Perfect. Still bowl? Meh.

Bottom line? I'm very cute, very friendly, easy going companion who loves people, cats, kids, cuddles and cozy evenings. If you're looking for a social sweetheart who will explore your home by day and sleep beside you at night, I might just be your Archie.
