Agnes (in a foster home)'s Story

~Currently in a foster home, please make an appointment to met her~
Agnus has an extremely sad story: When her owner's family came down to bring her to an assisted living facility, they made an appointment to put her 15 year old cat down. We got word of it via a volunteer and got her to our shelter a couple hours before that appointment.
As an only cat in the same home for her whole life, she enjoys the company of people but doesnt like other animals. She has not come out of her cage because of the other cats, but we suspect shes a lap cat and if shes doesnt directly get in your lap, shes definitely going to be sitting beside her new owner on the couch, at the very least. We are all impressed with how much she has adapted to such drastic changes late in life.
Bloodwork showed her to have hyperthyroidism and she is very easy to medicate. Currently, Agnus is still a round girl with lots of love to give and is looking for a retirement home of her own.
Read about hyperthyroidism here:

https://www.petmd.com/cat/conditions/endocrine/c_ct_hyperthyroidism

Come see her Wednesday through Sunday noon to 3, Saturday noon to 4.
