**Meet Abuelita! **<br/><br/>Abuelita is an approximately 6-year-old spayed brown tabby Domestic Medium Hair with a gentle spirit and a heart that's ready for a fresh start.<br/><br/>She came to our rescue from another organization after a kind-hearted Good Samaritan found her struggling to survive outdoors. When she arrived, Abuelita was very thin, covered in fleas, severely matted, and suffering from diarrhea. She also had advanced dental disease that required all of her teeth to be removed.<br/><br/>Today, Abuelita is feeling like a brand-new cat! Her diarrhea has resolved, her painful mouth is healed, and she's enjoying life without the discomfort she once lived with. She thrives on a high-quality diet, and with a slow transition to premium food, she should continue to do very well.<br/><br/>Abuelita is the definition of a couch potato. She loves nothing more than curling up beside—or even better, on—her favorite person for a cozy nap. If you're looking for a true lap cat, she's your girl. She's happiest lounging on the couch, soaking up affection, and binge-watching Netflix with her family. Whether it's a movie marathon or your favorite series, Abuelita will happily be your snuggle buddy from the first episode to the last.<br/><br/>She does wonderfully with children and would love a family that appreciates a calm, loving companion.<br/><br/>Abuelita prefers to be the center of attention and isn't a fan of other cats or dogs. However, with slow, patient introductions, she may be able to peacefully coexist with the right laid-back companion.<br/><br/>After everything she's been through, Abuelita deserves a home where she'll never have to worry about going hungry, living in discomfort, or facing the outdoors alone again. If you're looking for a sweet, low-key companion who will happily keep your lap warm, keep you company during your movie nights, and claim a permanent spot on your couch, Abuelita is ready to become your new best friend.<br/><br/>Abuelita has had all age-appropriate vaccinations, has been dewormed, microchipped, received monthly flea/tick/heartworm prevention, tested negative for FeLV, and has been altered.<br/><br/>We recommend having a fecal test rechecked within 48 hours of adoption, which is covered by us. If they test positive for any parasites, we will provide the dewormer recommended by your veterinarian at no additional cost.<br/><br/>Adoption Fee: $175<br/>Adopters will receive copies of their microchip registration information, adoption contract, medical records, and a handout about Upper Respiratory Infections (URI) in cats. The microchip registration is lifelong, and we will register it for you before adoption.<br/><br/>Abuelita is doing great with litter box use. We recommend starting them in a smaller room with a litter box and gradually introducing them to the rest of the home. Slow introductions to existing pets are always encouraged to ensure a successful transition.<br/><br/>We will provide food to help with the transition to their new home and are happy to answer any questions after adoption. Our animals live in foster homes where they are treated like family while they wait for their forever homes.
