Abi's Story

Spayed Female
6 Years Old
11 Pounds
$40

Abi is a beautiful 6-year-old spayed female Domestic Shorthair with a sleek black coat and a very sweet heart. She’s a sensitive girl who is feeling especially stressed and scared in her current environment, but underneath that anxiety is a loving and affectionate companion waiting for the right person to help her feel safe.

Abi would be happiest as the only pet in the home. She does not get along with other cats or dogs, and being around other animals causes her significant anxiety. In a quiet home where she doesn't have to worry about sharing her space, Abi can truly relax and show her loving personality.

Because she is highly anxious, Abi will need a patient adopter who understands that she may need some time to settle in and feel secure. Once she is comfortable and away from other animals, she is very loving and sweet and can be a wonderful companion.

Abi is litter trained and has been an indoor cat. She can be a little particular about her food, but she has a clear favorite: chicken pâté wet food! Wet food is definitely the way to her heart.

If you're looking for a devoted feline companion and have a peaceful home where Abi can be your one and only, she may be the perfect girl for you. Give this scared shelter kitty the quiet, safe environment she needs, and you may discover just how much love she has to give.

At the Humane Society of Midland County, all animals adopted will be spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations prior to an adoption. Dogs over 6 months of age will be heartworm tested, and any dog with a positive test will receive treatment at No Appointment Needed to Meet Adoptable Animals!
We have open adoption hours, and walk-ins are always welcome! While filling out an application lets us know you're interested in adopting, it does not hold an animal, and applications are not required to meet the available animals. We do highly recommend and may require you to bring any dogs that reside in the same household, or that will be around commonly if you are meeting a new dog companion.

Want to Know if I’m Still Available?
Call the shelter at (989)-835-1877 to confirm my availability. If you’d like to show you’re thinking about adopting, please fill out an application on our website under "Adopt" at www.hsomc.org.

Open Adoption Hours:

Tuesday & Wednesday: Noon – 6 pm

Thursday & Friday: Noon – 7 pm

Saturday: Noon – 4 pm

I’m located at the Humane Society of Midland County, 4371 E Ashman St, Midland, MI 48642.

We can’t wait to meet you and help you find your new best friend!
