Abby the underdog, er, cat.

A sweet girl who is misunderstood in so many ways.

Bullied by other cats and longing for a home where she can be your one and only.

When Abby first arrived she used to leap into your arms for a hug.

She still longs for that love from her favorite humans, but she tends to keep to herself in the cattery.

Her grumpiness is actually anxiety and it appears when she gets nervous about being moved from her safe places.

We cannot wait for the day that someone gives her a chance for her to shine in a home of her own.

That is really all she needs....you and a chance!

We know you are out there. A kindred spirit for a kindred kitty.

Briggs Animal Adoption Center's Adoption Policy
The National Humane Education Society’s Adoption Program is a result of over 60 years’ experience of working with companion animals and the adopting public. Our primary goal is to place animals in loving homes while providing support to make the transition from shelter to home as easy and rewarding for both our pets and the adopters! Our adoption staff is looking forward to helping you find a pet who will bring you years of unconditional love. All dogs and cats have been spayed or neutered and have received their necessary immunizations. As a part of our process, we select the “best fit” for our animals. Please note that we do not offer same-day adoptions. Adoption Fees are displayed on each animal’s information page. To begin our adoption process, please come by, fill out respective cat or dog application forms, or call 304-724-6558 to speak to an adoption counselor at the Briggs Animal Adoption Center.
