Abbey's Story

Abbey is a petite and beautiful 2-year-old girl who is ready to find her perfect match. She is a social and outgoing kitty at heart, though she is still quite shy when meeting new people or adjusting to unfamiliar environments. Because she takes her time to assess her surroundings, she will need a slow, patient introduction to her new home, starting out in a quiet space of her own where she can build up her confidence. Once she feels completely safe and comfortable, her true colors shine bright--revealing a wonderfully sweet, affectionate, and playful girl! Abbey absolutely thrives in the company of other felines, and having another friendly cat in her forever home is a must for her development. Whether you choose to adopt a second friendly kitty from our shelter or already have a social resident cat at home, a feline companion acts as a vital security blanket. Watching another cat navigate the home confidently teaches her that the environment is safe, helping her drop her guard, try new things, and process her surroundings much faster than she would on her own. To ensure she feels secure, Abbey would do best in a household with gentle children over the age of 8 who understand how to respect a kitty's boundaries. At this stage in her development, a dog-free home is required so she can focus entirely on settling in, though she may be open to a calm, cat-friendly dog later in life once she is fully established.Abbey's adoption fee is $225.

*To visit our cats, you must make an appointment on-line at www.caringforcatsmn.org/adopt.*

Note: While we are happy to respond to your questions about any of our cats, you will still be required to make an on-line appointment at www.caringforcatsmn.org/adopt if you wish to meet our cats.
