A Little Common 55151's Story

A Little Common is a gorgeous female teenage tabby kitten who is a little bashful yet very loving and playful. She was found huddling in fear near businesses in Jackson with her brother, 55150 Not So Common. Many people posted for help for her and her brother, and saved by Zade didn't hesitate to bring them into their rescue. When she and her brother were found by a SBZ volunteer, they were eating potato chips to survive. She was very sick and malnourished when she came into the rescue. She found comfort being with her brother and not having to fight to find her next meal. She has come so far being in foster care. Unlike her outgoing brother, she is more bashful. Although being picked up isn't her favorite pastime, once she is in your arms and she gets ear scratches and gentle pets, she starts her gentle purr box and melts into your hands and lap. She is more "on the alert" than her brother, but she has learned that humans are pretty great after all. When you are resting or working from home, she will jump up to see you and plop herself down on soft blankets next to you and ask for gentle pets. She arches her short little tail over half her body when you pet her, which makes her more adorable.
She loves other cats and needs a home with another cat that she can cuddle with. She is often times found snuggling with her brother and grooming his fur. She would love to be adopted with her brother 55150 Not So Common, but if not she would love any cat she comes across. She has been exposed to a small dog in her foster home. She seems on alert when the dog is around her, but she should do fine with cat friendly doggies. Since she is more bashful and shy, a home without small children would be best for her. She prefers a more peaceful atmosphere where she can nap in the sun and get love on her terms from her humans. She loves wet food and basically any wand toy or fuzzy ball toys. She will absolutely melt your heart.
WELCOME HOME!
Bringing Your New Kitty Home: What to Expect
Thank you for adopting and giving this kitty a second chance! Here's what you need to know for a smooth transition:
Start Small
Set your cat up in one quiet room with a litter box, food, water, and a hiding spot (like a covered bed or cardboard box). Let them explore slowly and on their terms.
Give Time
Even the friendliest cats may be shy at first. Expect 3 days to decompress, 3 weeks to settle in, and up to 3 months to fully adjust. Be patient-they're learning to trust!
It's normal for cats to hide for the first 24-72 hours.
Adult cats, especially, may take even longer to feel safe. As long as they're eating, drinking, and using the litter box, hiding is okay!
Feed & Hydrate
Keep food and water dishes in a quiet, accessible spot. Follow any diet info provided. Monitor eating, drinking, and litter box habits the first few days.
Litter Box Basics
Show them where the box is right away. Keep it clean and use unscented, clumping litter unless otherwise noted.
Interactions
Let your cat come to you. Avoid loud noises or too much handling early on. Use gentle voices and slow blinks to build trust.
Introducing to Other Pets?
Slow and steady wins the race! Keep your new kitty separated at first and take your time with introductions.
Playtime & Enrichment
Interactive toys, scratching posts, and window views help relieve stress and build confidence.
Email adoptions@savedbyzade.com
