Ziggy's Story

My name is ZIGGY and I am a 4-year-old, female (presumed), Blue Crowned Conure. I am happy, social and outgoing and very used to being handled, played with and loved! I am being helped by FPR because my “first Mom” got into some financial difficulties, lost her home, and no longer could take care of me.
My life has always been full of love and good care, so I have adapted to my “new surroundings” quite well- if I do say so myself! My foster home has a cat and a dog, and I really don’t mind them at all. Foster Mom and Dad are both great, and I like to play and sit with each of them. I didn’t even mind going to the vet for my intake check-up. She said that I was amazingly sweet and everyone would love a bird like me! However, I must be the only bird in the household because I don’t like sharing the spotlight.
So let me tell you a bit about me— I know that STEP UP means to get on your finger/hand, and I do it very nicely. I LOVE to talk and whistle and have a lot to say- like “ZIGGY “WHATCHA DOIN, HUH?”, “COME HERE”, “DO IT, DO IT, DO IT AGAIN”, “COME ON, COME ON”, “KISS ME BABY”, and I will give you kisses with a smooch. When I get to talking- I can be a bit loud, but I am not much of a screamer. I LOVE to play with wood toys, TP rolls, paper balls, rope and anything that I can shred or throw! There are treat puzzle toys in my cage, and I can figure those out quickly to get a goodie (like a piece of walnut, Nutriberries, or a Nuggie).
My main foods are bird pellets (Harrisons, Mazuri), and Nutriberries as a treat. I like fresh apple, banana, cooked green beans, scrambled egg and cooked sweet potato, too. My foster parents are trying to get me to eat more veggies- but I am not liking them yet.
I enjoy taking a bath in my big water bowl, at least a couple of times a week, but I also enjoy sunbathing on nice days (out on the patio). Foster Mom will spritz me with water while I’m getting sun, I like that. Also, I enjoy watching
TV like Paw Patrol and Peppa Pig and sitting with my family after dinner and getting scratches and cuddles are also nice before bedtime. and I will even roll on my back for tummy tickles. I like people!
So if you are looking for a funny, smart, sweet, feathered friend to share the next 25+ years with, I’m waiting to meet you!

Ziggy would love a "Welcome to Foster" gift.
