Willow's Story

Hi, I am Willow. I am a female Greenwing Macaw and I am about 18 years old. I came BNW when my owner had to move in with family and could not care for me. I am a true "gentle giant". I step up easily and seem to like both men and women. I am an enthusiastic eater, I like fresh fruit and veggies a lot. Some of my favorite foods are walnuts and grapes. I am not super fond of baths, but I seem to enjoy the shower. I enjoy chewing wood and playing with toys. I also love to ride in the car and I can dance. I am somewhat potty trained. I prefer not to poop in my cage, so if you return me to a perch every so often and say "poop", I will. Because of my size, I will need an extra large living space and plenty of time out of my cage. I can be noisy like all macaws. Diet: Pellets, fruits & veggies, nuts or seeds as treats. Adoption fee: $1200.<br/><br/>Check out our website which explains our adoption process. Beak n' Wings, Inc.'s Adoption Policy

Because most of our birds are in private homes, they are only able to receive visitors by appointment at our facility at our facility at 9010 Rosehill Rd in Lenexa, KS, usually on weekends. We also take them to outside events. If you would like to know where we will be taking them, please visit Beak n Wings, Inc. on Facebook. Our adoption process does take some time, generally a few weeks. As an all-volunteer group we have limited people power and most of our volunteers have full-time jobs as well. Our priority is not to have a speedy process, but a careful one that ensures proper placement of our companion birds.
