Wally's Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hatch Date: 2013

Wally is an 11 year old, DNA sexed female, Green Cheek Conure.

Wally is a vocal girl. She LOVES strawberries, grapes and a daily splash in her bath. She also loves to snuggle and sleep with a fuzzy wallet.

She is nippy, (which is common in green cheek conures) and only likes to be handled on her terms.

Wally does not know the step-up command. When a finger is placed in front of her, she doesn't know what to do and will just nip at it.

Wally did not fly when her current family brought her home, however, she has learned, (with the help of a cockatiel) to fly since she's been in her home. She likes to be out of her cage and has free range of the downstairs. She will take laps around the downstairs. However, she mostly stays on top of, in and around her cage. Her cage is kept open all day long and she is only put in her cage when no one is home or at bedtime.

Wally has another bird, a cockatiel, as a companion. However, she would likely do fine on her own. She isn't interested in interacting with the other bird and has even shown some signs of aggression toward her.

Wally did not fly in her previous home, but she has since learned to fly. She has improved tremendously, although still not great at it.

Wally is on a seed and fresh fruit diet. So far she has been resistant to transitioning to pellets.

Wally is looking for a family who can accept her idiosyncrasies, such as typical nippiness, and not expect her to step up or always wanting to interact.

Wally is participating in our Help With Rehoming program and is living in Wernersville, PA and will only be adopted to a forever home within driving distance. We will not ship our birds.

Wally is living in a private home; we only allow approved applicants to make visits.
