TimTam's Story
TimTam is a brave boy. He stood stoically in a backyard, waiting for help to come or waiting to die, whichever came first. He sat quietly in a box while kind hands conveyed him to one of our volunteers. He gulped water gratefully while our rehab volunteer Cathy gently examined his left wing, then immediately rushed him to Naperville Animal Hospital for emergency care where the veterinary team immediately began working to repair his torn shoulder muscles and the delicate, fractured bones in his wing. TimTam patiently rested and healed, looking adorable in his wing-splint, and visiting Dr. Sandiford weekly for xrays and splint adjustments to ensure his muscles and bones heal properly.<br/>TimTam is one of the many faces of pigeon racing. He is one of the lucky ones. As of today, he is now able to fly up to 2 feet to perch contentedly on a sofa or low shelf! And hopefully very soon, he will be able to hop right into the loving arms of his forever family.
