Sunny's Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Hatch Date: 2001

Sunny is a geriatric little Sun Conure, presumed male, but DNA testing is pending. He is 25 years old. He lived in a home with the same guardian most of his life, but his doting mom sadly recently passed away, which has led to Sunny being surrendered to the rescue. He is used to sharing a room with other parrots, each having their own cage, but being comfortable spending time out of the cage with each other. Because of this, Sunny would ideally go to a home with other birds.

Sunny is very nervous and shy, but steps up and will hang out on the shoulders of his foster family. He seems to have a preference for the man in the house, but is not aggressive toward anyone.

While Sunny has only been in his foster home for a few weeks, he has been very quiet for a sun conure. He makes some noise when the other birds in the home are loud, but otherwise isn't very interested in attention. He is not aggressive with the other birds in his foster home at all.

Sunny eats a healthy diet of chop and pellets, and loves to bathe in his water dish. He isn't a big fan of spray baths. He loves sunflower seeds in the shell as a treat. He also loves pasta and other "people food," when he is allowed to have it.

Sunny has been disease tested for PBFD and Chlamydia.

Sunny would make an excellent addition to the right family. He is being fostered in Cherry Hill, NJ, and will require 2 visits to be adopted.

We do not ship our birds. For the Love of Birds is a network of dedicated foster homes throughout NJ and Eastern PA. As our adoptable birds are living in private volunteer homes, we only allow approved adopters to make the required visits. If interested in adopting Sunny, please visit our website ftlob.rescuegroups.org. Please read our adoption policies and fees and complete an adoption application.
