Native to the semi-arid regions of Australia, these ground foraging birds can live up to 20 years with proper nutrition and care, and can be a loyal companion. Cockatiels tend to not be major talkers, but instead prefer to chirp or whistle. We recommend that cockatiels live in pairs or groups whenever possible.
