Q-T-PIE's Story
Age: 11

Species: Sun conure

Q-T-PI is a beautiful Sun Conure that came to us after the previous owner developed serious health issues and could no longer give him the attention he needed.
Q-T-PI is energetic, loves playing on his cage-top gym, and enjoys foraging toys. He is semi-tame, will step up, and likes to play peek-a-boo; he loves taking baths in a pie dish. He says hello and copies the ring on phones.

Q-T-PI would do best in a home that would allow him 3+ hours a day out of the cage; the more, the better. Unfortunately, since he's been at the rescue and has had to spend more time in his cage, he has developed a bit of cage aggression which is normal, and is somewhat fearful of loud noises. With the right owner, training, and patience he should do fine. The best cage for a conure his size would be at a minimum of 30W x 30D x 36H.

Sun Conures can live 25-30yrs, so Q-T-PI is still pretty young and has a long life ahead of him with good nutrition and proper care. A diet of pellets with added fresh fruits and vegetables is best; seeds and nuts are good as occasional treats. Like most parrots, Sun Conures can be messy and loud at times; they do not make good apartment pets.

Please note that the first communication is through email, whether your prequalifying application is within 4 to 6 business days.
